Volunteering

    Why volunteer?

Stirling Curling Club is a volunteer-run and volunteer-maintained club that relies on its members to volunteer throughout the year to keep our costs as low as possible.

    Volunteer Year: September 1 – August 31

Your 4 volunteer hours must be completed during the annual volunteer year, which runs from September 1 through August 31.

There are many ways to earn your hours, including:

    • Helping with club and facility maintenance
    • Serving on the Board or participating in club committees
    • Tending the bar during league play
    • Helping at club events and bonspiels
    • Assisting with other activities and tasks that support the club

Volunteer opportunities are posted on the bulletin boards at the club and on the website under Members Information → My Volunteer Interests when you log in to your SCC account.

Please note: Smart Serve certification is required to volunteer as a bartender.

Prefer Not to Volunteer? You Can Opt Out

If you choose not to complete volunteer hours, you can opt out during registration by paying the $150 volunteer opt-out fee.

If you do not opt out and your 4 volunteer hours are not completed by August 31, a $150 volunteer fee will be charged at registration for the following season.

Whether you volunteer your time or choose the opt-out option, your contribution helps support the Stirling Curling Club and our curling community.
